BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, MI (FOX 1) – Three of four women caught on camera stealing up to $7,000 worth of supplements and vitamins from Plum Market grocery store in Bloomfield Township have been arrested.
“What we’re seeing are so-called Romanian organized crime figures,” Bloomfield County Police Officer Nick Soly said, “They’re traveling all over the country, Ohio, Maryland, Arizona, at least this vehicle is.”
Then last week, they stormed into Bloomfield Township, clearing the shelves of a Plum Market with supplements and vitamins stuffed into clothing — some of which even had modified pockets.
The incident was recorded on one of the store’s cameras.
“They stuff it into their skirts, put fake pockets on the inside, sew pockets in and stuff as much as they can grab,” Solly said.
The women continued shopping at Target, including Ulta, TJ Maxx and other big box retailers.
“You’ll see them look straight at the camera, then look back down and carry on with what they’re doing,” Solly said.
After stealing the vitamins and supplements, they were arrested by Auburn Hills police, who spotted the vehicle issued by Bloomfield Township police.
Three of the four women were arrested and handed over to immigration authorities after they were found to be in possession of $23,000 worth of stolen goods, perfume, cosmetics, clothing and medicines, after terrorising the stores on multiple occasions.
Police said a fourth woman was also involved in the incident but remains at large.
“It could potentially be resold somewhere, but exactly where it goes and how it gets resold are pieces of the puzzle that we haven’t figured out yet,” Solly said.
