In this segment, Angie Horkan of the Wisconsin Beef Association shares tips for taking your beef purchase to the next level.
Western Sliders:
material:
- 1 lb. 93% lean ground beef
- 8 Kings Hawaiian Slider Buns, split, split
- 1/4 cup dry breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
- 1/3 cup fried onion
- 8 slices of cheddar cheese
- Grillo’s Pickles® Classic Dill Chips, 16 pieces
- 1 cup shredded romaine lettuce
- 16 pickled jalapeno slices
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
direction:
- Combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, salt, and pepper in a large bowl and mix gently but thoroughly.
- Lightly form into 8 1/2-inch-thick mini patties.
- Place patties on charcoal grill covered with ashes over medium heat.
- Cover and grill until an instant-read thermometer inserted horizontally into center registers 160°F, 8 to 9 minutes (9 to 10 minutes on a preheated gas grill over medium heat), turning occasionally.
- Sprinkle cheese evenly over grill during last minute of grilling.
- Place burger in bottom of slider bun.
- Top each plate with 1 tablespoon barbecue sauce, fried onion, shredded lettuce, 2 jalapeños, and 2 pickles.
