I’ve been hooked on Pilates for about a year now, and nothing beats the feeling of taking another class to work all the aches and pains out of my body. In that time, I’ve been to many studios, working my butt off on mats, reformer beds, and on the hardwood floors at home. I loved the flexibility and functionality the classes gave me, and the effect they had on starting my day.
Feeling tired and sluggish? Try Child’s Pose. In the mood for something a little more stimulating? Book a circuit class. Looking to improve your overall form? A mat class will give you instant improvements. Even if you’re short on time or money (we won’t deny that it can be pricey), Pilates can be done in the comfort of your own home and still be fun.
Originally created by Joseph Pilates to rehabilitate wounded soldiers after the First World War, Pilates has since entered the mainstream of the public conscience – and of course we have the eastern suburbs mums to thank for making it happen. Whether choosing to work out at home or clambering up to fix the yellow springs on a reformer machine, Pilates has become accessible to many.
Naturally, Celine’s latest collection is sending ripples through the larger Pilates movement. Launching a campaign with sports muse Kaia Gerber, the brand has launched a Pilates collection with something for everyone, from beginners to advanced Pilates practitioners. The black-and-white photo shows Gerber dressed head-to-toe in Celine, exuding an aloof air with over-ear headphones and shades to protect from the sun. Are you rushing to class? We bet you are.
What’s in the drop?
The drop includes yoga mats, kettlebells, dumbbell weights, and most notably, a Triomphe canvas reformer machine. The entire collection features designs that are a refreshing take on traditional fitness equipment, including engraved dumbbells and leather kettlebells for a chic feel. The entire collection allows you to try out a wide range of Pilates exercises for yourself.
Where can I buy the new collection?
The collection will be available exclusively at Céline stores in Soho, Rodeo Drive and Miami in October. For more information on the launch, please visit the official website.
