Treasure Island Resort management continues to offer complimentary herbal therapy seminars for guests.
Seminars are held weekly by village elders who introduce guests to the different types of herbs found on the island, their uses and benefits.
A great example of Fijian herbal remedies was recently when Fijian-born All Black Waisake Naholo returned to his village in Fiji and used ancestral herbal remedies to aid injury recovery before the Rugby World Cup. You can see it.
Group General Manager Robert Wade said herbal remedies had their origins in ancient cultures and herbal remedies had been used in Fiji for generations.
“This includes the therapeutic use of plants to help treat disease and promote general health and well-being,” he said.
“Interest in herbal remedies has grown rapidly in recent years, and scientific interest in the therapeutic use of plants is increasing.
“Treasure Island took this opportunity to introduce an herbal therapy seminar based on herbal remedies that Fijians have used for many years to treat illnesses.”
