At last week’s Town Council meeting, the Town Council proudly presented Beth Bate DuBoff, the new Director of NAMI of Rockland, with a proclamation declaring May as Mental Health Awareness Month. This important recognition highlights the community’s commitment to raising awareness about mental health issues and providing support to those affected.
Mental illness can affect anyone, regardless of age, race, religion or socioeconomic status. This declaration recognizes the importance of mental health, aims to educate the public, reduce stigma and ensure those in need of help have access to resources.
Beth Bate Duboff, the recent inauguration of NAMI of Rockland, thanked the City Council for its support and emphasized the importance of community engagement in mental health advocacy. She stressed that mental health awareness is essential to providing the necessary support and resources to those struggling with mental health issues.
If you or someone you know is experiencing mental health issues, please seek support. The NAMI Helpline (845) 359-8787 offers assistance and information to those in need.
The Declaration serves as a reminder of our collective responsibility to support mental health efforts and ensure everyone has access to the help they need.
