Hyderabad: Madhuranagar police have arrested three people for allegedly scamming people by selling fake Ayurvedic medicines. Authorities recovered counterfeit medicines from his possession. It was revealed that the suspects were involved in 14 cases and extorted a total of 1.9 million rupees from the victims.
According to police, one of the arrested persons is from Karnataka and the other two are from Nagpur. The accused had set up three to four Ayurvedic medical stores across Hyderabad. They target isolated locations such as shopping malls, hospitals, massage centers, and other crowded areas to identify individuals suffering from various diseases such as cancer, paralysis, skin diseases, Alzheimer’s disease, knee pain, etc. did.
The defendants approached these victims and falsely claimed that their illnesses were curable. Moreover, they sometimes deceive others by saying that their relatives suffering from similar symptoms were cured by taking Ayurvedic medicines from the shops. Taking advantage of the victims’ vulnerability and desperation for treatment, they obtained their phone numbers, visited their residences, and mixed various oils to create a solution, promising a complete recovery.
They claim to have rare traditional Ayurvedic plants that are only available in their shops and charge their victims hefty amounts of Rs 2,000 to Rs 3 million or even more for one gram. did. Police have registered a case and efforts are on to nab the accused who is still at large.
