A Detox heiress accused of having sex with a 14-year-old boy twice in one day has hired a celebrity lawyer for her upcoming trial.
Wellness guru Savannah Daisley, 46, has signed star Brian Wrench and high-profile lawyer ahead of her trial in the New South Wales District Court in October.
Mr Wrench, who has represented former NRL star Sam Burgess and Wolf Creek actor John Jarratt, recently defended a pensioner in a high-profile match with music star Guy Sebastian.
Ms Daisley appeared with Mr Wrench at Sydney’s Downing Center on Monday for a pre-trial hearing that included arrangements for private court recordings of several child witnesses.
The celebrity naturopath is on trial for allegedly having sex with a 14-year-old boy twice in May 2021.
The court heard earlier this year that evidence expected to be submitted included: Materials from the prison and data extracted and analyzed from two mobile phones.
Police allege Daisley and the 14-year-old girl drank alcohol before having sex twice and that she was highly intoxicated at the time.
Police legally wiretapped the phone call after Daisley allegedly told the boy never to talk about them again.
Daisley pleaded not guilty to two counts of sexual activity with a child in December last year.
She was granted bail last year after her father, champion horse breeder Ross Daisley, secured a $100,000 surety.
She continues to run a smart cleanse business that is endorsed by celebrities. The website says it’s made up of capsules and powers that promise to detoxify customers’ bodies, relieve stress, lose weight and “reverse aging.”
Customers who want to lose weight and “detox their bodies” pay $199.95 for a 14-day starter pack.
Her products are sold across Australia after signing deals with pharmacy giant Priceline in 2018 and supplement giant Mr Vitamin in 2020.
A self-proclaimed naturopath, she boasts 31,000 followers on Instagram thanks to her two-week detox program and has written two health books.
Equestrian heirs must live with their parents in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales. He reports to the police twice a week and undergoes drug and alcohol tests to ensure he is complying with bail conditions.
Daisley is not allowed to be with children unless supervised and cannot contact the alleged victim or witnesses.
Mr Wrench has become the star’s lawyer in recent years, the 35-year-old having represented Burgess on charges of domestic violence against his ex-wife Phoebe Burgess’ father, and defended Jarratt on rape charges.
Mr Wrench, known for his striking double-breasted suits, also works for free for free, as he did for elderly neighbor Philip Hanslow, who was accused of threatening Sebastian over their shared fence. However, Mr. Wrench intervened and the charges were dropped and dismissed. .
