KINGSTON, N.Y. — “Reel Hope for Men’s Mental Health,” an event celebrating Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month, will be held on Saturday, June 22, according to an announcement.
The free event is hosted by Hudson Valley mental wellness organization Brain and Body Coalition and will take place from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Sojourner Truth State Park, 100 Sojourner Truth Way.
According to the announcement, the event will focus on outdoor activities that “promote mental health.” Free fishing equipment will be provided, and participants can register for the event in advance to receive a fishing license valid for the season. Event attendees will also have access to mental health resources.
“This event is designed to provide a supportive environment for men to enjoy nature, engage in meaningful conversations and access mental health resources,” Brain & Body Coalition founder Heather Ann Pitcher said in a prepared statement.
