Rare Beauty Aromatherapy Pen: An Honest Review.

Mamamia’s ‘Try & Test’ series is a review of the latest products that have arrived on our desks in the beauty, health and wellbeing sectors. There’s no #sponsored content, just honest, relatable and independent advice. This week Mamamia’s Beauty & Health Editor tries out a new product from Rare Beauty. Find Comfort Stop and Soothe Pens.

When it comes to the beauty industry, we all know that there’s a ton of stuff out there that we don’t need. While we believe we should do whatever it takes to feel good, sometimes you just want to ignore the crap and spend your money on products that actually do good for your face, body, and mind.

Understood! Oh, I see.

As someone who makes a living trying and testing beauty products, I’ve come across a lot of really good products. very meaningless Most are just marketing and promotional products.

Take a look: Remember when we tried the 10-layer foundation hack? You remember. Take another look. Post continues below.

So when Selena Gomez’s latest Rare Beauty Series “Find Comfort” collection arrived on my desk, I was immediately intrigued.

If you haven’t heard about this new product line yet, it’s essentially a skincare and haircare line focused on encouraging holistic experiences that support self-care. It includes a Body & Hair Fragrance Mist ($55), Moisturizing Body Lotion ($55), Moisturizing Hand Cream ($35), and Stop & Soothe Aromatherapy Pen ($39).

Yes! It’s an aromatherapy pen. It caught my attention right away.

Apart from body care and hair care products, Do we really need to spend $39 on an aromatherapy pen? Is it something we really need in our lives? And are there actually any benefits to it? Questions abound.

I tried.

What is the Rare Beauty Finds Comfort Stop & Soothe Pen?

As mentioned above, the Rare Beauty Find Comfort Stop & Soothe Aromatherapy Pen is $39 and can be purchased at Sephora. On the Rare Beauty website, the pen is described as a “lightweight, fast-absorbing gel” with a “pleasant peppermint and lavender scent to help relax and refresh your senses on the spot.”

The formula comes in a leak-proof click pen that can easily be thrown in your bag and refilled on the go.

It looks like this:

Rare Beauty Find Comfort Stop & Soothe Aromatherapy Pen.

The formula itself is a gel-like consistency (although it looks more like a light moisturizer or lotion), and you simply click the bottom of the applicator to dispense the right amount of product. The top of the pen is a silicone-type tip that you can massage into your temples, the back of your neck, and behind your ears for a soothing and relaxing effect.

The scent is a combination of lavender, peppermint and tonka bean oils.

how was it?

Well, I really Don’t love Lavender smell. One of my teachers in high school bathed in pure essential oil and smelled like I slathered it on my toast in the morning. Now just smelling it brings back headaches and homework anxiety.

I was also worried that the scent would be too strong and I’d end up walking around the office smelling like a hippie. but,Chicken I applied this to my wrists and neck on my way to work on Monday morning (when I was already feeling stressed) and was pleasantly surprised that the scent was more subtle than I was expecting. In fact, it was more of a refreshing minty scent than the headache-inducing lavender I was expecting. Great!

I also really liked the cooling sensation after applying it. It was quickly absorbed into the skin and didn’t leave a greasy or sticky feeling at all. I also applied it to my temples and it didn’t ruin my makeup, which was a plus.

I like how the gel dries down to a perfume-like scent (with a hint of vanilla tonka bean) and doesn’t leave a lingering scent. I’m not sure if my nose just got used to it or if it’s really subtle. I asked a coworker and she said she didn’t smell anything, so I’m not sure if that’s a good or bad sign. It’s hard to say.

Throughout the week I tried it in a variety of places, including behind my ears, directly on the palm of my hand (while holding it over my face and breathing deeply), and even sniffing it directly from the pen during the day like a weirdo.

verdict.

Okay, let’s get this straight. Nobody needs Aromatherapy pen. need 7 different types of serums. flat As long as it comes from the lovely Selena Gomez.

Now, it’s also worth knowing that I’m not a huge fan of the occult. I don’t use incense or oil diffusers, I don’t meditate or do breathwork, I don’t do any of that stuff. So, for me, an aromatherapy pen is outside the realm of normal.

While I wouldn’t say the pen helped me relieve stress, I did find the scent quite calming, and applying it, smelling it, and breathing deeply into it helped me enter a moment of mindfulness. It helped me realize when I needed a break, and it helped me stop and focus on something other than the screen in front of me.

For some people, the scent may not be strong enough to really be effective, and while I liked how subtle the scent was, it didn’t last long and I had to reapply it multiple times throughout the day, but I really like the convenience of being able to keep it in my bag so I can refill it on the go.

Overall, if you have to spend $39 on a calming, stress-relieving product, you’d be better off spending your money on a lip product or face mask to put on after a long day, but if you like this kind of thing and have the money to spare, go for it!

If you’d like to check it out for yourself, the pens and the entire new product line are available now at Sephora.
