Publicis Montreal And that RSEQ (Society of Students Sports of Quebec) They have once again teamed up on their annual campaign aimed at preventing smoking among 11-15 year olds. This year’s “Outsmart the Pack Trap” campaign focuses on the potential impact of nicotine consumption on mental health.
Tobacco consumption is known to have a negative impact on mental health, and a recent survey found that 62% of children aged 7-12 believe that schools should pay more attention to mental health issues than physical health.
“Based on these alarming statistics, we had to do something about mental health. We came up with the idea of ’Outsmart the Pack Trap’ because we knew this wordplay would inspire young minds,” said Melissa Charland, creative director at Publicis Montreal.
“We know that more young people than ever are facing mental health problems, but few know that smoking can exacerbate these problems or create new ones. We thought it would be interesting to highlight that aspect,” revealed Stéphane Boudreau, Deputy General Manager at RSEQ.
The campaign also includes an educational card game. Both entertaining and educational, the game is designed to help young people gain a deeper understanding of the mental health risks of smoking and to encourage them to think about different strategies to avoid falling victim to tobacco in a fun and non-judgmental way.
The campaign is being rolled out across Quebec via social media, billboards and television.
