The Jonathan Crevatte Memorial Golf Classic, a fundraiser, will be held Monday at Sands Point Golf Club.
The event aims to support healing for children and families struggling with mental health and substance use issues.
“With children and teens struggling with serious mental health issues, the Guidance Center’s mission is more important than ever,” Troy Slade, board member and co-chair of the event, said in a news release about the fundraiser.
“We are so grateful to the many friends, colleagues and family who have stepped up to support this important organization that truly makes a difference to children in our community,” Slade added.
This year’s guest speaker will be Sam Epifanier, a Guidance Center volunteer with the Wilderness Respite Program, an innovative program that allows youth to build peer confidence and community through challenging hikes.
“I have seen the Wilderness Respite program change lives, including my own,” Epifanas said in a news release. “It is a place where children can discover their strengths, make new friends and learn to appreciate the world around them. Watching the children grow is a source of inspiration and a reminder of the benefits of being in nature, where there are no distractions, just authentic connections.”
In addition to Slade, co-chairs of the event included Michael Mondiello, Dan Oliver and Michael Schnepper.
