A 63-year-old woman has revealed her three-step method to reverse signs of sun damage.
She said her anti-aging secrets are beauty products purchased from drugstores.
Reddit user Ok-Bee1579 is 63 years old and a proud man.
When another Reddit user asked, “Is anyone else feeling down about not starting to take care of their skin sooner?” she simply replied, “No.”
In her post, she revealed that she started taking care of her skin just three years after being diagnosed with rosacea.
A big part of her skincare regime involves slathering on SPF.
“Sunscreen is great because it repairs a lot of the damage caused by the sun,” she says.
Another Reddit user shared a study from the National Library of Medicine on the benefits of using sunscreen daily.
It said, “Daily use of a broad-spectrum photostable facial sunscreen may not only prevent further sun damage but may also visibly improve the signs of existing photodamage.”
Studies have shown that after roughly a year of consistent sunscreen use, 40% to 52% of people saw improvements in skin texture and photoaging.
The Reddit user also said that the product “not only prevents but reverses existing sun damage with long-term use,” adding that it’s “not too late” to make a change.
And that’s not the only thing she’s done to reverse decades of sun damage to her skin.
“The other things I do are mainly barrier repair and collagen production,” she added.
Still, she said her skin “looked so much better” and it didn’t take much effort.
Does she wish she had made it a priority sooner?
She acknowledged that she does so “a little bit.”
But at the end of the day, you can’t turn back time, you can only move forward, and that has paid off for her.
“I look younger than most people my age,” she says.
When it comes to collagen production, there’s a “game-changing” product that this 63-year-old woman uses.
Though the Omnilux Contour Face Mask ($395) is a bit pricey, it’s an important part of her routine.
Dermatologist tested red light therapy device for anti-aging and skin rejuvenation.
Finally, she said she also takes a phytoceramide supplement daily.
It is known for its skin rejuvenating properties, the benefits of which include increased hydration, smoothness, suppleness and a youthful appearance.
