A 52-year-old woman added a new product to her skincare routine and the wrinkles and pigmentation on her face have almost disappeared.
She raved about effective beauty products that she uses for just 10 minutes a few days a week.
The woman shared photos of her skin before and after a year of using glycolic acid on Reddit’s Skincare Addiction forum.
She said people who have not seen any improvement in their skin with tretinoin may be able to get the results they want by using this ingredient.
Anti-Aging Acids
She saw other users asking for tips on reducing sun damage and recommended glycolic acid.
“It’s an amazing active ingredient that reduces pigmentation and sun damage, reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and leaves skin looking smoother and clearer,” she writes under the handle “Jaseykcsee.”

“The wrinkles around my chin that I get when I smile have been completely reduced and most of the sun damage has disappeared.”
She revealed that she uses glycolic acid on her face, chest, and hands three to four times a week at night.
Gradually getting your skin used to the ingredients will give you the best results, she said.
“The mask [glycolic acid] “Apply the product for 10 minutes and then start with three to four minutes,” she said.

Reddit users said that the Glitone Rejuvenating Mini Peel Gel, which retails for $48.75 on the brand’s website, is “pricey,” but that it lasts a long time because you only use a small amount.
She also loves Alpha H Liquid Gold, Peach & Lily Super Reboot Resurfacing Mask, Dermelect Sleep Serum, and The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution, which is only $9.50.
She said her morning routine involves applying toner, serum and emulsion, followed by lotion and sunscreen.
At night, after double cleansing, I alternate between applying glycolic acid or tretinoin, followed by toner, serum, and lotion.
“I use tretinoin occasionally, maybe once or twice a week,” she says, “and hadn’t used it at all for a year before taking these photos.”

According to Medical News Today , glycolic acid is an odorless chemical exfoliant found naturally in sugar cane and certain fruits.
When used topically, it can reduce the visible signs of aging and improve skin conditions such as acne and pigmentation.
Experts recommend nighttime use due to the increased risk of sunburn and warn that sunscreen should be worn every day.
Cleansers, toners, serums, moisturizers, and face masks are some of the cosmetic products that list this ingredient, but you only need one product containing it in your daily skincare routine.
