Beauty enthusiasts have revealed the skincare routines they swear by to combat the signs of ageing.
They were delighted to say that they had been mistaken for 20 years younger than their actual age on multiple occasions.
They shared the products that keep them looking youthful on Reddit’s 40Something forum in response to a user asking about their skincare routines.
Forever 21
The beauty fan revealed that she follows a seven-step routine that focuses on hydrating the skin.
“I’m 40, and many people I’ve met recently who are in their 20s or older have been surprised when I told them my age, saying, ‘We’re about the same age, right?'” they wrote under the handle Deecoded.
“The thing I get asked about most is my skincare routine.”
The Reddit user said she’s tried “a ton” of products in the past, but has since developed a routine that she uses every day.
At night, I use Vanilla Clean It Zero to remove my sunscreen and makeup.
Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm Original is made for all skin types and sells for $21 from Banila Co.
The Redditor continued her list of skincare staples with another affordable face wash.

“Laneige Cream Skin Refiner”
You can purchase the Ricewater Bright Cleansing Foam at Walmart for just $12.90.

“SKII Facial Treatment Essence,” the Reddit user continued.
“Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Face Cream”
They finished off their sunscreen routine with Anessa Perfect Sunscreen Milk, which they use every morning.
It has a 4.1 star rating on Amazon and costs $68.
The Reddit user said she’s had dry skin since her mid-30s, so while she “needs” all those moisturizing products, they might not be suitable for everyone.
“Before you commit to a product, always place a small sample on a small area of skin to make sure you’re not allergic to the product!” they said.

The skincare routine began after Dr Simon Ouran told the US Sun that if early signs of ageing run in your family, it’s best to be proactive.
He recommended using a broad-spectrum sunscreen daily and a facial cleanser to remove dirt and impurities.
For best results, he says, a thinner product should be applied before a thicker one.
Ourian adds that a dermatologist can advise on a personalized skin care routine.
