Refreshing room sprays will leave your linens, bedding, bathrooms and any other area in your home smelling soothing. Instead of buying, consider making your own room spray with essential oils.
Extracted from leaves, fruit peels, petals, and other plant parts, essential oils can capture the subtle scent of nature and freshen up your living space, which is why writer Anusha Rajeswaran decided to develop this all-natural spray that can be sprayed in every room of the house.
To recreate this project, all you need is unscented witch hazel, dried flowers, distilled water, and your favorite essential oils. You can even mix witch hazel to create your own scents. Try combinations like wild orange and tea tree, lavender and rose, or green tea and cucumber.
Instructions
-
Add essential oils:
Add 25 to 30 drops of essential oil into the bottle.
-
Add witch hazel:
Add witch hazel to the bottle until it is half full. (Note: Witch hazel helps the oil and water mix, making the scent last longer.)
-
Fill the bottle with distilled water:
Fill the rest of the bottle with distilled water. This ratio works regardless of the size of the bottle. Shake the bottle to mix all the ingredients together.
-
Insert flowers and herbs:
Add some dried flowers or sprigs of herbs to complete your fragrant spray.
Please note that although essential oils are made from all-natural ingredients, they can still be strong, so handle undiluted products with care.
