Holistic Eye Care, located at 1225 Ken Pratt Blvd, Suite 124, celebrated its official grand opening Thursday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the Longmont Area Chamber of Commerce.
Robert Underwood runs a clinic and uses acupuncture, nutrition, herbal supplementation, and other holistic treatments to help patients. Underwood is a licensed acupuncturist with a master’s degree in Oriental Medicine and practices a combination of Asian and Western approaches.
Mr. Underwood founded Holistic Eye Care as a spin-off of Good Life Acupuncture, which he has owned and operated since 2011. In 2017, he decided to turn his attention to his eye health after seeing his own family suffer from sight-threatening eyes. Diseases such as macular degeneration.
“I started by using the techniques presented here on myself because I didn’t want to go through the same difficulties that they were going through,” he said.
Underwood began formally incorporating eye care into his practice about six years ago and said his clients have experienced great results.
“Many people who come to see me are told there is nothing that can be done to help them. When they see what we can do for them, they are surprised. ” he said.
Underwood’s wife, Stacey Donelson, is also an acupuncturist at the clinic. They have lived in Longmont together for decades. Their ties to the community were evident as many friends and neighbors attended Thursday’s ribbon cutting, along with chamber members.
“I’m so happy that everyone came out and supported me,” Underwood said. “We are really looking forward to serving the greater community in new ways.”
