As part of an effort to advance holistic preventive medicine, the George Washington University (GW) Office of Integrative Medicine and Health (OIMH) and the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M) have established a strategic partnership to shape evidence-based, integrated clinical care with an emphasis on continuing education for healthcare professionals at all stages of their careers. Through in-person, virtual and hybrid continuing medical education (CME) offerings, the partnership will focus on translating the latest medical knowledge into practical clinical skills and practice.
By bridging the gap between research and real-world applications, including through hands-on clinical simulation, the partnership will empower healthcare professionals to deliver personalized precision medicines that optimize health and promote longevity. The partnership brings together GW’s integrative medicine expertise with A4M’s leading longevity education and clinical best practices to drive transformation in modern healthcare.
In-person Clinical Simulation Training
Designed in collaboration with A4M, this first-of-its-kind program led by GW faculty provides immersive, hands-on clinical training in integrated holistic care. Clinicians will hone their skills through simulation and collaborate with leaders in the field to put their knowledge into practice. Delivered primarily on GW’s state-of-the-art Washington, DC campus, this intensive training bridges the gap between education and real-world application.
Healthcare Professional Certification Programs
These collaboratively developed continuing education programs focus on building evidence-based skills in holistic care, and upon completion, participants will earn a GW Certificate of Attainment and CEUs/CECs.
These certification programs are offered in-person, virtual and hybrid formats, allowing healthcare professionals across the country to advance their expertise and expand their clinical toolkit.
On-Demand Continuing Education
Selected certificate programs will be adapted into online, on-demand courses offering permanent CEUs/CECs. This virtual format makes them more accessible to time- and resource-constrained clinicians around the world. Scholarships will also be available to applicants who meet the eligibility requirements.
Path to Double Board Certification
Completion of the A4M fellowship will qualify for discounted tuition for GW’s integrative medicine graduate program, which includes a two-year Master of Science in Health Science (MSHS) + fellowship. This accelerated track prepares clinicians to take certification exams in both integrative medicine and lifestyle medicine. The two-year online asynchronous master’s program includes a two-week in-person fellowship led by a GW integrative medicine expert.
Developing tomorrow’s leaders in holistic medicine
This strategic partnership between two pioneers in integrative medicine and longevity leverages the strengths of both institutions to bridge education and practice. By connecting research insights to real-world skills and classroom learning to practical application, this multimodal programming will enable practitioners to gain multi-layered expertise and build leadership in evidence-based, whole-person, individualized care.
Together, GW and A4M are training a new generation of clinicians to deliver the promise of integrated care to improved health for all.
