Fortis Healthcare, India’s listed private hospital network, has introduced new mental health services enabled by artificial intelligence.
hospital networkwhich is also part of a larger scale private medical group IHH Healthcare has entered into an exclusive partnership with mental health super app United We Care to establish Adayu Mindfulness. The service will offer telemental health services alongside residential inpatient care covering acute psychiatry, addiction treatment and rehabilitation.
How to use
In a media release, Fortis explained that Adayu comes from the word “ayu”, which means “age”, and represents the concept of “adding to life”.
Adayu features Stella, United We Care’s 24/7 virtual assistant, which provides users with personalized assessments. You can also connect with Fortis’ mental health experts, as well as sports therapists, yoga experts, and art therapy providers.
A variety of self-help resources are also provided, including videos, audio content, exercises, and diaries.

Approximately one in eight people in India suffers from some form of mental illness.
Dr. Sameer Parikh, chairman of Fortis’ national mental health program, says a technological approach that combines AI and clinical expertise will improve mental health in a country where mental health remains “deeply stigmatized.” It says it will transform the delivery and accessibility of care.

Last November, New York-based United We Care launched a second version of Stella. The virtual assistant, called Stella 2.0, runs on cognitive AI that can interact in more than 20 languages, detects most human emotions, and rates them with more than 90% effectiveness.
About two months after the debut of Stella 2.0, United We Care announced agreements with three major privately held U.S. health systems.
