Paul McKenna is returning to radio after more than 30 years off the airwaves.
A legendary BBC Radio 1 DJ is leaving the world of broadcasting and returning to his roots to become a successful hypnotherapist and author.
In a nostalgic moment, the 59-year-old will appear on September 9 for a two-hour show on Boom Radio, a station aimed at baby boomers.
During the broadcast, Paul will perform some of his favorite music over the years, including songs by Frank Sinatra, Carly Simon, Lionel Richie, the Four Tops and more.
The self-help guru also shares stories from his 40-year career as a DJ, author, and hypnotherapist.
“I’m so excited to be doing this special on Boom,” he said.
“My love for radio will never go away. I can’t wait to share some of my favorite songs with listeners and maybe even tell a few stories from my radio days along the way. not.”
Having sold over 12 million books, Paul started his life in radio before becoming famous for his television work.
As a teenager, he won a competition for a ‘young DJ slot’ on London’s Capital Radio, and Paul went on to enjoy his Saturdays on Oxford Street as Top Shot’s resident DJ.
Moving to Radio Caroline in 1983 at the age of 20, then Chiltern Radio and then Capital Radio, Paul eventually found a home at BBC Radio 1. In 1990 Paul retired to continue his hypnotherapy work.
Paul is a passionate advocate of wellness and previously spoke to Metro.co.uk about his top tips and tricks for a happy life.
“Most people spend more time making lists to go to the supermarket than they will for the next five years of their lives, but there are people who can set goals, or at least know what they want. “Those who know their goals are much more likely to achieve them than those who don’t set them”.
“Instead of ‘I want money,’ ask ‘What will it give me?'” Is it a sense of security or a sense of accomplishment? Then you’ll understand why you’re doing what you’re doing. ”
She also offered a practical tip, adding: “Imagine going a year into the future and it was one of the best years of your life.”
“What was it like in terms of your health, your physical, your mental, your relationships, your personal, your professional, your career, your finances, your happiness?
“Then come back three months before that.” What needed to happen? And repeat it for the previous three months until you return to this moment. Your life is now set for the next year. ”
