Farmers Market starts May 11th
The Monroeville Farmers Market opens its 2024 season on May 11 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Monroeville Mall, located between Dick’s and Best Buy at 501 Mall Circle Drive.
It will be held every Saturday until mid-November.

Here are some upcoming programs at the Monroeville Public Library.
• May 4: Introduction to Aromatherapy with Clinical Aromatherapist Tiffany Burton, 10 a.m. Learn about the history, science, and practice of aromatherapy.
• May 7: Free belly dance workshop with Amethyst of Pittsburgh Belly Dance, 7 p.m. The group will provide a brief introduction to the history and practice of belly dance, along with demonstrations.
• May 14: Introducing Cricut, 4 p.m. Learn about the capabilities of your Cricut machine in the library’s Maker Space. Computer-driven tools can cut paper, vinyl, fabric, and more. Classes are $5 and are for adults.
• May 15: Learn to Draw Zentangle, 6:30pm Join artist Sue Schneider as you learn how to draw Zentangle, a simple technique for drawing patterns. To register, visit Meetup.com and register to become a member of the “Zentanglers in Pittsburgh” group. There is no cost to register.
• May 18: “The Wizard of Oz” Mini Tea, 10:30 a.m. Families can attend a mini tea with games, activities, crafts and treats themed around the classic children’s movie . This event is intended for children aged 11 and under.

Plum Community Center and Life Options Pittsburgh will host a Senior Resource Fair on April 26 from 9 a.m. to noon. Participation fee is free. Interact with local businesses that provide products and services for seniors.

Audiology practice expands
Pittsburgh-based HearWell Center has moved into new offices in Wilkins.
The new office, which opened in mid-March, is located in Building 4 of Penn Center East at 400 Penn Center Boulevard. The new office is nearly three times the size of HearWell’s previous Forest Hills office, allowing for improved services, increased staff and new patient growth.

Pitcairn Night Market is open to all ages
Pitcairn will host a night market on April 26th from 6pm to 9pm on Broadway Street from Dunn’s Floral to Dick’s Sports Bar. This event is open to all ages.
This year marks the 6th time for the ward’s night market, which is held in April and September. The goal is to promote and encourage shopping local in a welcoming, family-friendly environment.
Vendor items available for purchase include crafts and handmade items, jewelry, baked goods, carved and engraved items, and dog treats. There will also be a cat rescue operation with animals up for adoption.
In addition to the vendors, there will be food trucks and live music from the band Warehouse 11, set up on the side porch of the park building.

Mansion plant exchange is open to all gardeners
The first Manor Borough Plant Swap will be held from 9 a.m. to noon May 18 at the Manor Borough Community Room, Library and Parking Lot, 44 Main Street.
This event is free and open to gardeners of all experience levels. The morning will feature children’s activities, information booths and garden-themed raffles. It will be held rain or shine.
The deadline for participant registration forms to be submitted is May 11th.
