Every day I see patients suffering from a wide variety of medical conditions, some of which are life-threatening, like diabetes and high blood pressure, and others that, while not immediately life-threatening, threaten our joy, like anxiety, mood swings, headaches, and hormone and neurotransmitter imbalances. Tens of millions of Americans are living below their potential for health and vitality, unaware that there are many solutions to their diminished quality of life that can help them enrich their lives and live with energy and passion.
Often, patients come away feeling refreshed and with a changed outlook on life and health after just one or two visits with a naturopathic doctor. However, patients often also feel very frustrated that it has taken so long (usually years) to identify the root cause of their illness.
To me, that is very frustrating and sad. Many people are suffering. UnnecessarilyBecause they don’t know that natural remedies and other treatments can help them heal. Naturopathic doctors are ready to guide patients on the path to regaining their health. The American public is completely unaware of naturopathic doctors’ existence. This must change.
As long as I have a mind and a conscience and a voice and a body, I must tell the American people what I have seen, what I have witnessed, and what I have heard from patients, and I ask you to join me in this potentially historic effort.
On September 14th, concluding in New York City, my two sons, Isaiah and Jeremiah Godby, my nephew, Jonas Ellie, and I completed a 3,258 mile run across America to tell the story of naturopathic medicine to Americans, and to give millions of Americans the opportunity to hear true stories of healing through naturopathic medicine from patients, a story that has never been told before.
