Our dermatology physician assistants will give you the lowdown on how to prevent fine lines and wrinkles right away.
Skin care pros share their favorite affordable products to ward off common signs of aging.
Eleni Sgantzos, a certified dermatology physician assistant and injector at Viva Eve, explained the steps you can take to turn back time.
“Aside from wearing sunscreen, which is my gold standard for anti-ageing, my most low-effort advice is to get preventative neuromodulation treatments such as Botox Cosmetic or Dysport every three to four months,” she said.
“This is the most effective anti-aging treatment because it essentially stops lines and wrinkles from forming.
“Of course, anti-aging requires a holistic approach, and these injectable treatments are some of the best we have.”
And that’s not the only skincare secret she reveals from her beauty bag.
“Another hassle-free option is to get a really good radiofrequency microneedling treatment on a regular basis to regenerate new collagen and maintain the existing collagen in the skin,” she said.
Radiofrequency microneedling is a technique that uses radio frequency waves and tiny needles to rejuvenate facial skin.
According to Sgantzos, it’s also important to stick to a daily routine if you want to get rid of wrinkled skin.

“Consistent, high-quality, customized skin care over the long term is the best thing you can do at home to prevent aging and maintain youthful looking skin,” she said.
“A custom, medical-grade skin care plan is an essential part of any skin care journey.
“When it comes to everything skin, consistency is key. Skin care is a marathon, not a sprint, and you need to be consistent and maintain it.”
With summer just around the corner, she recommends always wearing a hat and sunglasses, using your car’s visor or sunroof, staying hydrated and, of course, reapplying sunscreen frequently.
She also has some money-saving tips for achieving smoother skin.
Among Sgantzos’ favorite “budget” skincare staples is the Ordinary AHA/BHA Exfoliating Peeling Solution, available at Sephora for $9.50.
This exfoliating solution is described as ideal for preventing blemishes, as well as enhancing skin texture and radiance.
She also loves the Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun: Rice & Probiotic SPF Sunscreen, which sells for $18.
Lightweight organic sunscreens are said to feel good on the skin.
The product is made up of 30% rice extract and fermented grain extract that is rich in vitamins B, C and E for added nutritional benefits.
The makers of this product boast that it gives a natural shine without clumping.
She also warns against smoking, sun exposure and poor nutrition if you want anti-aging skin.
“I always say that anti-ageing requires a holistic approach, so spending time on skin care isn’t going to do much if you’re not looking after your internal health as well as the outside,” she said.
US Sun previously reported that Sgantzos shared a viral TikTok video encouraging people to always put sunscreen on their hands.
She explained that this step is especially important for people who get gel nails, which exposes their hands to UV rays.
