I’ve recently discovered that spring is my favorite season here in New York, so I try to spend as much time in the sun as possible. As I get older, I’ve come to rely on facial sunscreen to prevent my skin from aging any faster. Unfortunately, there’s nothing I can do about rapidly graying hair or a sore back, but I can control my skincare routine. Lately, I’ve been obsessed with Cardon SPF 30 Sunscreen Face Moisturizer, available on Amazon Prime. I’ll go into detail on all the things that impress me about the formula, but to sum up, I love this sunscreen. It’s one of the few sunscreens I’ve tried that offers SPF 30 and moisturizing benefits without the nasty side effects that mineral sunscreens have.
As an experienced male grooming product reviewer, I’ve tried a lot of facial sunscreens. I’ve also heard dermatologists weigh in on the importance of using a facial sunscreen every day, even on cloudy days. I’ve tried a lot of skincare, grooming, and haircare products, but I’m actually pretty product-phobic, really. Really I love it. And I really do. Really Take Cardon’s 2-in-1 moisturizer for example. This product has won numerous grooming awards and Cardon has garnered many positive reviews. Now you can see why this product is popular among skincare-conscious men.
Additionally, this product doubles up as a moisturizer for sensitive skin on the face. Cardon formulated this sunscreen using cactus (antioxidants and moisturizing), chia seed extract (rich in omega-3s to protect against UV free radicals), and turmeric (natural anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties). In addition to the botanicals, this formula contains broad spectrum SPF 30 protection. Most importantly, it’s not oily or sticky. In fact, it doesn’t feel like anything on your skin. And, as we mentioned earlier, it doesn’t leave behind that pesky white residue that makes your skin look dirty and pale like Mark Zuckerberg on a surfboard. As long as you wear it, it protects your skin from UVA and UVB rays.
My only complaint is the rectangular packaging. I have a soft spot for the sleek product packaging and modern aesthetic that Cardon offers, but I’m not a fan of rectangular or square bottles for skincare or haircare products. I’ve never had an issue squeezing the formula out, and if you store the bottle upside down you can squeeze out every last drop, but still.
Cardon’s 2-in-1 Korean Skincare Face Moisturizer and SPF 30 Sunscreen can be purchased on the company’s DTC website, but you can also buy it through Amazon Prime (which I did), so if you’ve got a sunny weekend coming up and you’re a Prime member, you can have it delivered to your door within a couple of days.
