Louisiana-based metallic hardcore band Capra have announced that they are cancelling all tour dates for the rest of the year to allow guitarist Tyler Harper to focus on his mental health. The band had been scheduled to play consecutive US tour dates from late July through mid-August as part of their Zao headlining tour with Cell.
In a published statement, Metal Injection MoldingHarper said:
“The last six months have been emotionally tough and I haven’t been myself. Losing my job, moving around the country and struggling to balance a lot of touring over the last few years has left me at breaking point, exhausted and conflicted within.
“While I’m grateful to be able to travel and play music, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to fully concentrate. I’ve been thinking about this for many weeks, but at the end of the day, if I want to be able to continue doing what I love long term, I can’t continue to ignore my mental health.
“With that being said, all Capra performances for the remainder of the year have been cancelled. We know this is disappointing, but health must come first.”
“This isn’t the end.
“Tyler//Capra”
No joke, mental health is always a top priority and we wish Harper the best on her mental health journey.
Capra had scheduled several off-date dates where he was scheduled to headline with Sel as the supporting act, in addition to the headlining Zhao tour. There has been no announcement as to whether Capra will be replaced on the Zhao tour, or what will happen to the off-date dates where Capra was scheduled to headline.
