Following the success of “Violets in Bloom” and its Elkins Park bestseller, owner Ava Adams has partnered with luxury candle maker Sierra Marrero to bring aromatherapy to Abington.
Since opening on Sept. 30, Candles, Sticks & Stones has become an apothecary stocking a wide variety of candles, aroma sprays, essential oils, skincare, teas, tinctures and tonics, all with a rich selection of natural, clean scents.
As you can see in this video, it doubles as a DIY space.
“They are all tools to support overall wellness,” Adames says. “Stones and crystals have different ways of bringing good energy and passing it on to others, and making crafts is a healing experience.”
This month, Candles, Sticks & Stones will be hosting a wire wrapping and beading class with local artisan Hannah on Wednesday, December 13. Residents can learn how to make their own unique jewelry.

A winter-scented candle experience is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 22, and a do-it-yourself home cleansing spray class will be held on Dec. 30.
All events include a coffee and tea bar and light snacks.
“Even if you’re not in class, you can drop in anytime and make anything you want with what we have,” Adames said.

If you are an artisan who would like to share your work, please contact Candles, Sticks & Stones.
“We’re always looking for paid instructors, and we want members of the community to teach each other,” she said.
