BOCA RATON, Fla. (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Boca Barbie doll is being sued by a Boca Raton anti-aging center for seeking services to reduce her waistline. The services were successful, but she threatened to write a negative review if the center did not pay her, according to the complaint. The center refused. According to the complaint, Boca Barbie Dean failed in an extortion charge and posted negative reviews.
BocaNewsNow.com obtained the court filing that was just processed by the Palm Beach County Clerk of Courts. In it, the Anti-Aging Center of Boca makes serious allegations against Barbie Dean of Boca. We highlight some of our claims:
“As always, it is important to note that Plaintiff, Anti-Aging Center of Boca, LLC, is a Florida limited liability company authorized to do business in the State of Florida. Defendant, Barbie E. Dean (“Defendant”) At all times was a resident of Broward County, Florida, over the age of 18 years, and otherwise had jurisdiction. As always described herein, Plaintiff is an aesthetic salon located in Boca Raton, Florida. The defendant became a customer of the plaintiff and requested that the plaintiff undergo ultrasound treatment of her lower back and abdomen in order to reduce her waistline by several inches. The plaintiff performed an ultrasound on the defendant’s waistline/abdomen. Measurements taken after the procedure showed that the defendant’s waistline had significantly decreased. The outcome was therefore a success and the defendant signed a document stating that he was satisfied with the outcome. Some time later, the defendant attempted to extort the plaintiff by demanding a refund of the money he had paid, but when that attempt failed, the defendant posted a negative review online. The plaintiff hired a lawyer to issue a cease and desist order advising the defendant to stop making such outrageous threats. Plaintiff denied the extortion. Defendant carried out outrageous threats, and when Plaintiff did not pay Defendant, Defendant posted negative comments online. The posts by Defendant are false and defamatory, both in her name and her alias. ”
“Defendant directly participated in the criminal activity through a company separate from himself. Specifically, with respect to the extortion activities described herein, this business was linked to Defendant and online reviews through Google and other entities. The defendant attempted to blackmail the plaintiff through the company by threatening to post negative online reviews if the plaintiff did not pay the defendant money to which the defendant was not entitled. When she informed the plaintiff that she would not, the defendant again advised the plaintiff through the company that she would post/review if the money was not paid immediately, and the defendant followed through on her outrageous threat. , the plaintiff suffered damages as a result of the defendant’s outrageous conduct.”
The lawsuit seeks more than the $50,000 legal minimum for filing a lawsuit in Palm Beach County Circuit Court. The lawsuit against Boca Barbie Dean makes no mention of anyone named “Ken.”
