“Support your mental health or we’ll kill you.” Did this get any attention? (This is a note taped to the wall of Lakeshore Mental Health Institute in the mid-1970s.) Me As detailed in a previous chronicle, community involvement in mental health is essential to the survival of society. Mental illness is in the news every day. This is a reminder to stop and take a deep breath. We can get so caught up in our daily activities, routines and to-do lists that we forget to be still.I practice self-care every day and treat myself to frequent self-care experiences. Reiki sessions, red light therapy sessions, massages, facials, etc. are just a few of the many ways I give back to myself. The more you can care for and provide for yourself on many levels, the more you will be able to be there for and help others. It’s time to slow down and take a deep breath…
Some Pilates exercises are more comfortable to perform than others. Some people’s hearts sink when their instructor tells them this is next. Does anyone want to do Pilates 100 times easily?
