HYDERABAD: Drugs Control Agency (DCA) officials have seized overpriced medicines in Asifabad district. During a search at a medicine shop, the officials seized anti-fungal drug Zytaz PT Injection (Piperacillin & Tazobactam Injection IP), which was being sold at an overpriced price of ₹ 146. The injection, manufactured by Prosperity 6 Pharmaceutics Ltd, Himachal Pradesh, was found to have been sold in price violations. Though the label of the injection, containing 4000mg piperacillin and 500mg tazobactam, had ₹ 546 printed on it, the actual ceiling price of the drug was ₹ 399.
