The alleged victim was seeking treatment for plantar fasciitis in one leg. However, during her third visit, she said that Mr. Hirayama sexually assaulted her after her receptionist left for lunch. Her underwear and her girlfriend Hirayama’s DNA samples were collected, and a DNA sample was taken from Hirayama via a cotton swab in September 2018. Six days later, Hirayama’s lawyer told law enforcement officials that Hirayama would not testify and denied the charges, according to court documents. The DNA report from the underwear was examined and a positive match was confirmed with an acupuncturist. As a result, a first-degree sexual penetration charge was filed against Hirayama in the same month.
