GREAT FALLS — May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and thanks to a generous donation, Alluvion Health is looking to enhance its mental health services.
Albion Health Foundation recently received a $100,000 donation from an anonymous donor.
The six-figure donation will be used to support a newly established Mental Health Fellowship Program.
“The Mental Health Fellowship program is incredibly exciting,” said Theresa Schreiner, director of Albion Health Foundation. “The experience that this donor had with our organization was truly amazing. This program came to this donor at a time when they really needed comprehensive services, and the mental health services we provided really resonated with the donor.”
Scheiner says the nonprofit foundation was created to help offset existing costs through fundraising efforts at local medical centers.
This donation will help address specific mental health challenges as well as help fund certain specialized areas of treatment.
“Some of the training we’ve talked about in our organization is play therapy and certain therapies that are really needed on our side that are school-based. We have a robust program, but the need is always there,” Schreiner said. “We really see a need in the community for addictions, counseling, specialized therapy, so we’re looking to offset those costs as well.”
The donation will also help establish an endowment fund, which aims to ensure sustainable funding to support mental health services into the future.
