Albuquerque Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine is a local clinic specializing in the treatment of complex chronic conditions such as neurological disorders and autoimmune diseases. Dr. Andrea Brogdon leads the clinic, which combines Chinese medicine techniques with some Western medicine techniques to help patients heal.
New Mexico Living visited his clinic and spoke with Dr. Brogdon about how he deals with and treats patients suffering from neurological disorders. She said her personal goal is to bring hope to “hopeless” cases and help patients regain their lives.
“There are many different forms of neuropathy, but the top three neuropathies I see in my office are called diabetic neuropathy, chemotherapy-induced neuropathy, and idiopathic neuropathy,” says Dr. Brogdon. say.
There are many triggers that can cause neurological disorders in the body, but Dr. Brogdon wants people dealing with this problem to know there are answers. “Despite the type of neuropathy my patients have, the results are excellent either way,” says Dr. Brogdon.
Dr. Brogdon has achieved great results without using Western medicines that mask the disease. She lets people know that there are other ways to treat neurological disorders other than taking medicine.
“This is often seen as a hopeless situation,” Dr. Brogdon says. “A lot of doctors will say, ‘Let’s help by giving you medicine to relieve the pain,’ but when it comes to numbness and nerve degeneration, there’s nothing you can do about it. We’re now teaching patients that that’s not the case. I’m so grateful to be able to give that back, and it’s great when that hope comes back. You get your life back. You get your independence back.”
One of Dr. Brogdon’s patients, Hoyt Sullivan, is proof of how life-changing the work being done at Albuquerque Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine is. “For a little over two years, almost three years, I developed foot pain that started at a very mild level and started in my right foot,” Hoyt Sullivan said. “So I thought it might be a cycle from the trip. No, a week and a half later this leg started and now it’s in both legs.”
Hoyt says the pain only worsened over time. “I’ve been to several doctors. I have type 2 diabetes, and when I tell them, ‘There’s nothing we can do.’ And they still don’t know what they can do.” says there’s nothing, or they won’t even discuss it with you,” Hoyt says.
It wasn’t until Hoyt found Dr. Brogdon that some results began to appear. “It was tickling to find someone who said, ‘I think I can help you,'” Hoyt said. “We were doing follow-up tests, which is what she does, and she fills out reports and does pretty extensive testing. And then when she first came in and had the same tests. It’s almost an 80% improvement.”
“I just want to say you should try it. If you don’t, you’re not going to get any relief,” Hoyt says.
Dr. Brogdon urges everyone to call Albuquerque Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine today to schedule a consultation if you or a loved one is suffering from chronic pain or arthritis.
