Aromatherapy is a big topic in the wellness world. Why wouldn’t it be? Scent is one of the senses we often forget to prioritize when thinking about health, yet it is just as important as the other four senses. Scent has the power to affect mood, sleep, and stress levels, and some research suggests it can even be used to manage chronic pain. For centuries, powerful plant extracts have been used medicinally. Medicine has come a long way since the days of herbal remedies, but the effects of scent on the brain and body are still being clinically studied.
In aromatherapy practices, it’s not just the olfactory and respiratory systems that absorb soothing scents, but also the skin, which absorbs particles from the botanical mixtures used, which is why electric steam diffusers have become a big hit among health-conscious enthusiasts in recent years.
One of the most popular diffusers of this kind, beloved by celebrities, meditation experts, aromatherapy practitioners, and more, is the Wellbeing Pod by Neom, and as the Luxury Edition of this diffuser has just been reduced in price, I decided to give this model a try.
How we tested
All diffusers are different, but the ideal one will distribute the scent evenly, fill the room, and create a calming atmosphere without making too much noise. Some electronic ones bubble and make weird noises, while others emit a light that’s a little too bright. Additionally, many diffusers are made of plastic, which can wear out quickly if you put too much essential oil in them. Others have fiddly buttons and a clunky display.
When testing the NEOM Wellbeing Pod, we looked at clever features, ease of use, brightness, noise, and of course, the power of the diffuser. Would it be able to fill a large room with just the right amount of scent without being too overpowering? Would it suit a room well, or would it take up too much space? And most importantly, would it live up to our expectations?
