As the monsoon season has begun, we Rupal Shabnam TyagiWe spoke to the aromatherapy expert, perfumer, organic skin formulator, and co-founder of Wikka about essential oils that can help with skin problems during the monsoon season. Read on to find out our full conversation in this article.

Best essential oils for monsoon season

Q: What is your brand’s philosophy when creating essential oil blends for wellness?

“Wicca is based on the principles of aromatherapy and essential oils play a vital role in holistic healing. The idea is to promote a life of contentment and harmony by addressing the physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing of each individual. Our philosophy is simple and follows the mantra ‘surrender to nature’. The extracts used in our essential oil blends are 100 per cent natural and painstakingly sourced from our own and associated farms, ensuring the highest standards of quality control backed by extensive research and development using the latest scientific techniques,” says Rupal.

Question:- Considering it is the peak of monsoon, what essential oils or blends would you recommend for this season and why are they effective?

Monsoon brings its own challenges like torrential rains, humid weather, increased risk of infections, seasonal allergies (skin care products for monsoon season) and general lethargy. To combat these issues, experts recommend essential oils of tea tree, lemongrass, rosemary, peppermint, eucalyptus and lavender. These e-oils are perfect for overcoming stuffy nose, various infections and feelings of depression, leaving you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.

Here are some of the most effective essential oil blends for monsoon.

  • Our energizing diffuser blend features eucalyptus, lavender and tea tree oils.
  • A refreshing monsoon blend with 3 drops eucalyptus oil, 1 drop peppermint oil, 3 drops lemongrass oil and 20ml almond oil. Mix the ingredients together and apply to pulse points for a mood boost or use as a blend to prevent infections, insect bites and skin rashes.
  • Calming Monsoon Blend contains 5 drops of Lavender Oil, 2 drops of Bergamot Oil, 2 drops of Ylang Ylang Oil and 20ml of Sweet Almond Oil. Mix the ingredients well and massage into the skin before bed. It helps to reduce skin inflammation, relax, relieve tension and de-stress.
