Here at the Who What Wear UK office, we talk about all sorts of things. Of course, we naturally gravitate towards this season’s trendy must-haves and the latest skincare products. But we also love to talk about the more mystical topics in the wellness realm. Holistic treatments, regimes and astrology are all common topics of conversation around the office. Whatever your stance on treatments and regimes, it’s sure to be a hot topic around the office.

A hot topic lately is crystals. Crystal healing is one of the most polarizing health topics you can bring up in a conversation, with people usually falling into one of three camps: those who roll their eyes and think it’s nonsense, those who believe that crystal healing works, and those who believe that crystal healing works. something Some understand but don’t fully understand, others believe it completely.

What about me? I’m somewhere in between. I don’t know much about crystals, but I have friends who do, and I swear by them. I’ve always been drawn to alternative therapies, and as a beauty editor, I tend to gravitate toward science and hard facts, but I try to keep an open mind.

So, as part of our efforts to test new wellness treatments and experiences at Who What Wear, I brought crystal skeptic Brand Content Editor Rebecca Rees-Evans along with me, a self-proclaimed crystal-loving Beauty Editor, for our first crystal healing session. Emma Lucy Knowles, Master Crystal Healer Read our crystal primer to find out what crystals are and whether crystal healing works. Read on to read some testimonials. Spoiler alert: we a lot.

During the crystal session, we closed our eyes and waved our hands over the crystals we had chosen, and felt a tingling or attraction towards the crystal that spoke to us.

My perspective before receiving crystal healing: To be honest, I was very skeptical of crystals. I knew very little (and I mean nothing) about them and I always felt a bit negative about anything crystal related. Sound baths, silence retreats, burning sage, moon water (just google it), astrological readings, etc. just didn’t appeal to me. If someone says “your chakras are clogged,” I literally run away.

Maybe it’s because my journalistic nature is always seeking the truth (unlikely), or maybe it’s because I’m a Gemini (apparently I have Mercury rising, does that mean anything?). Either way, it’s nothing personal; I’m cynical about most things in life. I think the stone itself is beautiful, and I like the nostalgic, kitsch elements of the culture (Mystic Meg, CraftingFor me, these ideas have lost their authenticity over the past decade, especially with their popularity on social media. “Dressing to match your horoscope” or buying jewelry to “bring good vibes” often make me question them. Is that actually true or just a fad?
