The scent of lemon can help improve concentration, and a Japanese study on how scent affects typists’ accuracy concluded that those who worked in lemon-scented workplaces made 54% fewer mistakes. One study found that Spanish sage essential oil had a memory-enhancing and stimulating effect on brain function, and its scent “significantly improved immediate word recall” in study participants. The strong scent of sage is said to reduce stress and anxiety and lift your mood, making it the perfect scent to have around the house.

Inhaling the scent of vetiver can improve your alertness and brain function, helping your brain feel more alert when you’re suffering from brain fog or struggling to stay alert. I can feel it.
