How to use an oil diffuser
The best place for an oil diffuser is in the center of the room to evenly distribute the scent. Place it on a flat surface and plug it into a nearby power outlet. The type of housing varies depending on the design. Typically, to fill a diffuser with water, you lift and remove the top.
When filling the diffuser, use room temperature water. Fill only up to the line marker. Most diffusers use 3 to 10 drops of essential oil per use, but refer to the manufacturer’s information for more specific usage instructions. After filling the water tank with water, put the lid back on and turn on the switch to start diffusing.
Are essential oil diffusers safe to use?
There is evidence that essential oil diffusers can be harmful to your health.
For example, David Stukas, a pediatrician and associate professor of pediatrics at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, told the New York Times that oil dispersion may be most concerning for children with underlying medical conditions such as asthma or allergies. states that essential oils are “very good at infiltrating the upper and lower respiratory tract, which can cause inflammation, especially for people with underlying chronic conditions such as asthma or allergies.”
