Balkrishna undecided whether to accept Ramdev’s apology: Supreme Court
Mr. Ramdev and Mr. Balkrishna apologized privately in court on Tuesday, but the court said it had not yet decided whether to accept the apologies or take action against them in view of their past conduct.
However, after Senior Advocate Mukul Rohatgi submitted that Ramdev and Balkrishna were willing to apologize in public to prove their sincerity in court, the court decided to take steps to restore their reputation in court. Therefore, a one-week grace period until April 23rd was granted.
In addition to the case against Ramdev and Balkrishna, the court also initiated contempt proceedings against the State Licensing Department of the Uttrakhand government and its officials for inaction against Patanjali, Divya Pharmacy, Baba Ramdev and Acharaya Balkishan.
The contempt charges against these police officers will be heard in court on April 30th.
