A water leak occurred at a Peloton studio in New York City this morning, causing the cancellation of at least one live yoga class.
This morning, July 15th, Aditi Shah was scheduled to lead a series of live classes, starting with a meditation followed by a 30-minute slow-flow yoga class.
The meditation went ahead as scheduled, but shortly after it concluded, the yoga class was quietly removed from future schedules and will not take place.
Later that afternoon, Aditi shared on Instagram what had happened. She reported that a pipe was leaking in the ceiling of the PSNY yoga studio. The Peloton team took the necessary precautions to repair the leak and also to protect production equipment from leaks. As a result, classes were canceled.
Both classes were scheduled to be attended by PSNY members, with the group participating in the meditation remaining in the studio for a yoga class shortly afterwards.
At this time, our other studios (cycling, running, strength training/rowing) do not appear to be affected.
Both Peloton Studios New York and London are live production studios, so issues like this happen from time to time, disrupting the regular class schedule and causing last-minute cancellations. For example, dumpster fires and wildfire smoke near the studios have caused classes to be canceled in the past.
Aditi said she plans to reschedule her yoga classes in the future, but it’s unclear when exactly.
