
New Delhi, June 19th As part of the celebrations to mark the 10th International Day of Yoga in 2024, the Ministry of Education, Government of India organised a Yoga and Naturopathy Wellness Camp at Shastri Bhavan. The two-hour yoga-based programme to set up a healthy body, mind and spirit and refresh and rejuvenate the mental space was organised in association with Delhi-NCR based NGO, People’s Foundation, Samathi Wellbeing Centre.

The health camp was inaugurated by Joint Secretary SE Rizvi and other officers of the ministry welcoming the team of Yogacharyas and doctors. Chairman People’s Foundation Mr VN Jha introduced the format and flow of the programme. The camp began with an AV presentation on Naturopathy by Dr Rajesh Kumar Singh. He mentioned the rise in lifestyle related diseases like hypertension, diabetes etc and stressed the importance of enhancing our body’s self-healing powers, boosting immunity and making key lifestyle changes.

Yogacharya Jatin began his long journey by exploring the standard yogic protocol for maintaining a healthy, happy and productive life through regular practice and proper diet. He guided the participants through lectures and demonstrations on yoga as an ancient knowledge and a gift of India to humanity and the planet.
It was a novel experience for the participants to undergo a session of “Office cum Chair Yoga”, a unique customized model developed by the People’s Foundation.
The health camp was attended by a large number of departmental officials who took part with utmost vigour. They also expressed their gratitude to Team Peoples Foundation for the success of the programme. Dheeraj Tomar, Chief Coordinator and Logistician of the Foundation, Amrit Singh and Vineet Saxena were also present on the occasion.
