Every Wednesday this month, an initiative is being organised to promote children’s health through active lifestyles.
The Child Protection Coalition will be running “Wellness Wednesdays” programs throughout the month.
A variety of outdoor fitness activities are held every Wednesday, providing children and campers with the opportunity to get active and have fun.
Starting today, the series will feature Soca Fit presented by Energise Wellness Solutions, Jump 2B Fit presented by Bermuda Jump Rope Federation, yoga presented by Empowered Me Wellness and exclusive cricket lessons presented by Bailey’s Bay Cricket Club.
“Our Wellness Wednesday series is now in its third year of positively impacting the well-being and physical health of children in our community,” said Stephanie Outerbridge, program manager for the coalition.
“By offering a range of physical activities, we aim to encourage young people to discover the joys of exercise, develop healthy habits and foster a lifelong love of fitness.
“This series provides a fantastic opportunity for campers and kids of all ages and backgrounds to come together, experience new activities and enjoy the outdoors in a safe and engaging environment.”
All activities will take place in Victoria Park from midday onwards and participants are advised to bring water, sportswear, a hat and enthusiasm.
The event is open to all children and the camp is free as part of the coalition’s efforts to promote children’s health in the community.
“Together, let’s create a healthier, happier community,” the charity says, inviting the whole community to get involved.
