New Delhi:
Veteran 85-year-old film actor Helen recently started attending Pilates classes under the guidance of renowned fitness expert Yasmin Karachiwala. Recently, Yasmin Karachiwala posted an interactive video featuring the veteran actor on her Instagram feed. When asked what made her decide to attend Pilates classes, Helen told Yasmin, “You. Every day you ask me and I say tomorrow. I knew you were tired of telling me and I felt guilty. The next day I called you and said my love, I am coming and I will never miss another Pilates class.”
Reflecting on the benefits she has enjoyed since joining Pilates, Helen said, “Yasmin, I feel so energetic, alive, happy and I look forward to this every day. I feel great. I get a high. I don’t need to drink or smoke. Pilates gives me that high.” The video also shows Helen diligently practicing Pilates.
Recalling the health issues she had before joining the classes, Helen shared, “I had a cane. My cane is in a cupboard somewhere. I had a knee problem. I had to get an injection in my knee. It cured completely. I can walk on my own and maybe even dance.” Helen concluded with a smile and these words: “Tell all the dancers in the industry to stay calm. I will be back.” Yasmin Karachiwala shared this video and wrote, “Age is just a number when you’re dancing your life with Pilates.
