This treatment is an alternative to the traditional method of using physical needles for acupuncture.
FV Hospital in Vietnam has introduced laser acupuncture as a non-invasive alternative to conventional treatments, which involves shining low-power laser light energy through the skin.
According to the hospital, the new service uses laser light instead of physical needles to precisely target and stimulate acupressure points on the meridians, offering benefits such as reduced pain and risk to patients.
In line with this, the hospital offers laser acupuncture treatments to patients with pain and inflammation related conditions, as well as those suffering from nervous system and functional disorders.
Additionally, elderly patients with chronic diseases such as diabetes can also benefit from this treatment.
However, the hospital said laser acupuncture is not recommended for patients with cancer, epilepsy, heart failure or hyperthyroidism, or for those being treated with immunosuppressants or high-dose corticosteroids.
