Udupi, July 16: On Monday, July 15, Sri Sri Vidyasagara Teertha Swamiji of Sri Krishnapura Mutta inaugurated Krishnaveni Ashrayadhama, an elderly residence developed by Sarmala Govind Bhat Family Trust at Sarmala, Shankerpura, and Krishnaveni Ayurvedic Treatment and Wellness Centre.
In his blessings, Swamiji said, “Ayurveda is our traditional form. It is an age-old practice. This Ashrayadhama and wellness centre is a noble undertaking of Kaup Taluk. The basic principles of Ayurveda are based on scientific evidence. There may be other practices but they do not understand the basic wellspring of the body. Arteries are the wellspring of the body and this is defined only in Ayurveda. Old age homes are a foreign concept but necessary in today’s society. Our generation often moves to different places and in such cases these old age homes provide respite to our aging parents. This facility is in the service of both God and society.”
Kota Srinivas Pujari, MP from Udupi-Chikkamagaluru constituency, said at the ceremony, “I hope that this Ayurveda Panchakarma centre will develop into an Ayurveda university in the future. Today, even a brilliant student from a poor family can get a seat as a doctor. Many students aspire to become Ayurvedic doctors. If this centre develops in the right direction, it will soon become an Ayurveda university and become a resource for many aspiring students. This family has done what the government should have done.”
Former Minister Vinay Kumar Solake said, “Those who think of their elders and do good deeds in their name are always doing a noble deed. This trust is giving an opportunity to senior citizens to spend their old age happily. Humanity should be present in every individual and the family has done a noble deed in this regard. This is a great blessing for the region.”
Mr. Haridas Bhatt, Trustee, Salmala Govind Bhatt Family Trust, gave introductory remarks and explained about Krishnaveni Ashrayadhama, a senior citizen residence, and Krishnaveni Ayurvedic Treatment and Wellness Centre.
