The Tripura State Ayurvedic Medical Council has finally officially opened the registration for aspirants for Tripura Ayurvedic Medical Pass.
The first registration in the state was obtained by Dr. Vinshati Dey, daughter of Shri Sujit Dey of Dainik Sambad, a well-known veteran journalist from Triplasa.
Acting Director General of Health Services Prof Dr Sanjeev Kumar Debbarma reportedly handed over the first registration certificate to Dr Bhinshathi Dey in the presence of Registrar Manoranjan Debbarma yesterday. On the directions of Chief Minister Manik Saha, the work of setting up the Tripura State Ayurvedic Medical Council has been expedited under the initiative of Health Secretary Kiran Gitte (IAS).
Registration of Ayurvedic medical pass students through the Tripura State Ayurvedic Medical Council has reportedly been stalled for a long time.
Notably, the Tripura Ayurvedic Council was formed much back. But due to internal issues, the registration process did not start for a long time. When Kiran Gitte IAS assumed the charge as Health Secretary, he reconstituted the Tripura Ayurvedic Medical Council on April 17 and directed it to start the registration process immediately. This reconstitution of the council is reported to be of immense benefit to Ayurvedic doctors in the state. Ayurvedic medical students will now have the opportunity to pursue higher education through All India Counselling.
Notably, Tripura’s first registration recipient, Dr. Bhinshathi Dey, was admitted to Madan Mohan Malviya Ayurveda College, Udaipur, Rajasthan, in 2017 through a state government quota. She passed from there in the academic year 2021-22. She completed her internship in the academic year 2022-23. After receiving her offline registration as an Ayurvedic doctor from the Ayurvedic Medical Council of Tripura, Dr. Bhinshathi Dey expressed her gratitude to Dr. Manik Sahal and Health Secretary Kiran Gitte and their teams for such an initiative. However, this is yet to be accompanied by an online registration process. The online registration process is said to be stalled for a long time in the state Information Technology Department.
