As Orthodox Easter approaches, the ibis Care community commemorates this important period in the Orthodox religious calendar.
Turning to Orthodox Easter, residents and staff have been preparing for this important period and celebrating it with spiritual activities and cultural events, explains La Stacey Ballamy, CEO of ibis Care. Masu.
“We are proud to support the spiritual lives of our residents. Encouraging cultural traditions and promoting activity is very important to Ibis Care,” says Ballamy.

Residents and staff participate in various events during Lent, including preparing Lazarakia, traditional Greek Easter bread, and baking dough to make Lazarus to enjoy with coffee or tea. I am actively participating.

Recently, residents of Ibis Care Blakehurst received a blessing, Holy Communion and the offering of holy oils from Bishop Christodoulos of Magnesia. On Palm Sunday, we also made crosses made of palm leaves.
“Together, we are helping our residents experience deep spiritual uplift and joy through religious services,” says Ballamy.

During Holy Week, residents make beautifully decorated candles, or lambas, to light on Good Friday, boil eggs and dye them deep red, and celebrate together by baking trechias on Easter Sunday.

“To maintain spiritual life, our Greek Orthodox staff facilitate gatherings where we have meaningful spiritual discussions about Easter. Family and friends of our residents are invited to ibis Care and are dedicated to caring for their loved ones.” They regularly participate in people’s daily lives,” Baramy added.

“Ibis Care Home is a warm, welcoming and friendly place where all residents are treated with respect, dignity and compassion.
“We pride ourselves on going beyond clinical needs to provide a lived experience defined by moments of fun, family, and friendship.”
ibisCare looks forward to hosting additional Orthodox Easter services for residents to enjoy with family and friends during Holy Week and Easter Sunday.
