Gurcharan Singh said, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmahhas finally revealed the mental anguish that led to his disappearance earlier this year.
In an interview Indian ExpressSingh revealed that he had distanced himself from his family and society due to the mental torture he suffered from those close to him.
“Despite my efforts to find a job, I was hurt by people close to me. I faced constant rejection,” Singh confessed.
Singh’s disappearance is not related to financial debts
The 51-year-old made it clear that his disappearance was not related to financial debts.
“They did not disappear because they were in debt or could not repay loans. They did so with good intentions. They borrowed money from people to pay credit card bills and bank instalments,” he said.
“There comes a time when I distance myself from my family and the world. That being said, I knew that no matter what happened, I would never consider suicide.”
Singh’s spiritual journey in his absence
Singh was reported missing in April and finally returned home 26 days later.
On his return, Delhi Police officials discovered that he had gone on a religious journey during his absence.
Officials confirmed that Singh visited gurdwaras in Amritsar and Ludhiana during this period.
“I went on a spiritual journey and had no intention of coming back. But God gave me a sign which made me come home,” Singh had earlier said. Bombay Times.
Singh denies that the disappearance was a publicity stunt.
Singh denied the allegations, saying he planned his disappearance for publicity purposes.
“Many people think I staged my disappearance for publicity, but that’s not true.”
“If I wanted publicity, I could have given interviews and spoken about the unpaid dues of my job. Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah ChashmahThe reason I’m speaking out now is because I want to clarify some of the things people are saying about me.”
He is reportedly on a liquid diet until he can find work.
