Amazon Prime Day is finally here, and as a longtime beauty editor, I scour the site for deeply discounted, quality skin care products, especially deals on beauty staples that I already love. I’m specifically looking for serums, exfoliants, and of course creams that contain ingredients like retinol and vitamin C that are clinically proven to reduce the appearance of fine lines (and not-so-fine lines!). I’ll also be stocking up on all-purpose, tried-and-true staples like petroleum jelly and micellar water that are good for my skin and that I always want to have on hand.
I myself am a recent (or rather recent) convert to anti-aging skin care. I’ve been skeptical of beauty products for most of my life. In fact, I used to wash my face with bar soap until I was 45. I didn’t moisturize because I thought lotions and toners were pointless. But then, in my late 40s, my skin started to show signs of aging. seriously As I got older, I began searching for ways to fade wrinkles, fade dark spots, and make my complexion look generally brighter and plumper, and I began to notice that consistent use of certain products in specific formulas could actually improve some of the signs that I’m not 25 anymore.
These products are some of my favorites, and some even made it onto my list of the best anti-aging skincare products of 2024. The best part is, because it’s Prime Day, you can get them for way less than usual, and some even have the best prices I’ve seen this year.

If you’re new to retinol or have dry skin, CeraVe products are a great place to start. At just 0.3%, they’re gentler and less drying than more concentrated products.

Vaseline
I’d completely forgotten about Vaseline until a few years ago, when this dermatologist-recommended classic went viral on TikTok for its use for “slagging” (basically the last step of a skincare routine that sort of seals all other products in place). Since then, I’ve used it to shave dry, flaky skin from my forehead, to heal cracked elbows, to prep my legs before applying self-tanner, and to remove my teenagers’ Halloween makeup.
As well as being a beauty essential, Vaseline is also incredibly versatile around the home: in a pinch, you can use it on its own to polish your boots, remove stains from clothes and even just a little bit to keep your razor sharp.

Garnier
I love Garnier Micellar Water in general, but this version in particular is perfect for an ageing face in summer. The leave-in cleanser works like a magnet, lifting away dirt and grime from your face while conditioning and cleaning your skin super gently.
This version also removes waterproof makeup, including smudge-free mascara, a warm-weather essential, without dragging or irritating the delicate skin under your eyes (which can lead to more wrinkles!) Stock up now with this great value set that includes two generous 13.5-ounce bottles.

CosRx
It’s not a wrinkle cream In itself, This popular snail slime from CosRx is perfect for evening out skin tone and making your face look softer and brighter overall, and it’s also won multiple awards, garnered nearly 70,000 five-star reviews on Amazon, and impressed just about every beauty editor I know.
After my first use (you can find my full review here), my face felt noticeably more hydrated, and other users have bragged about how it soothes, hydrates, repairs, and improves skin tone — all of which help to minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Speaking of retinol, there’s a reason Sarah Jessica Parker’s favorite brand is drugstore skincare legend: it’s proven to work. In clinical studies, 97% of people who tried RoC’s Retinol Correction Night Serum reported smoother skin after just one night. Users also reported a 63% increase in skin moisture after one week and visibly firmer skin after one month.
RoC’s Retinol Serum is also dermatologist recommended and tested, and with over 13,000 five-star reviews, it’s one of the highest-rated skin care products on Amazon.

L’Oreal Paris
When 86-year-old beauty Jane Fonda endorses a product, I pay attention. The actress recently revealed that she uses the serum on her face every night after washing. “It’s loaded with antioxidants and has great ingredients to hydrate the skin.”
It’s free of parabens and mineral oil, dermatologist tested, and has a rich formula suitable for all skin types — plus, it’s now 20% off.

Peter Thomas Roth
There’s a reason why I named this Peter Thomas Roth formula the best retinol serum of the year. With a 1.5% retinal concentration, Really It’s effective at reducing wrinkles and fine lines, but not so strong that your face starts peeling within a week of use. Plus, it contains microencapsulated retinol that lasts for eight hours and tends to be less irritating. It’s also packed with brighteners like Vitamin C and soothing emollients like Vitamin E and squalane to hydrate the face and reduce redness.
The texture of this product is especially striking – it’s silky smooth as opposed to sticky or tacky. I used this product for 3 months last year and noticed an almost immediate tightening effect on my skin. After a few weeks, I noticed a brighter skin tone and a reduction in the lines on my forehead.
It’s hard to pick a retinol serum that works “best” for all skin types, but with high-quality ingredients and a thoughtful formula, this product is the closest thing to a skincare star that’ll suit most people — and it’s currently priced at the lowest I’ve seen in 2024.

We know that retinol is definitely effective at reducing wrinkles, but this Swedish brand’s dark spot fix does double duty: It’s a skin-brightening treatment that contains Retinol 8, a stabilized vitamin A complex that’s said to be eight times more effective than traditional retinol but half as harsh. While we don’t have any data to back up the company’s claims, we can speak from experience: the formula is creamy, gentle on skin, and helped fade stubborn brown spots on my cheeks that had been plaguing me for years in just three weeks.
While it won’t be as effective as a visit to the dermatologist, if you’re struggling with mild pigmentation, this is a great at-home skincare option – especially at this price.
