HELF AI, a Singapore-based artificial intelligence company that provides advanced AI tools to health and wellness industry professionals, is seeking to raise $10 million in a seed funding round.
Built by doctors for both medical professionals and students, HELF claims to provide access to clear, evidence-based insights from vast amounts of medical data within seconds, helping to make informed research and clinical decisions and allowing medical professionals to focus on their patients.
“We have started monetizing our services and are also looking for seed funding — we are looking at $10 million to take the product to the next stage,” said Dr Reed Lim, founder of HELF AI. TN Global In an interview.
“Based on our knowledge, there are few or no other unique large language models (LLMs) specific to healthcare that focus on the entire health and wellness industry,” he says. “Our strength and competitive advantage is our ever-expanding knowledge base.”
HELF now offers a range of AI-driven solutions designed to assist customers and professionals across all areas of health and wellness. Last week, HELF announced that its app is now available on Google Play globally.
“Currently, our team has successfully developed HELF, the main engine of healthcare knowledge built on billions of clinical terms. We can leverage the success of the HELF-LLM engine to develop API endpoints that startups and organizations can use to further develop their own health and wellness solutions. Additionally, we are fine-tuning HELF to create wellness personas,” said Dr. Lim.
“Our first project is KIT, a beauty AI consultant. It is built on advanced machine learning models, including natural language processing capabilities, to effectively parse and interpret medical literature and user queries,” he added.
Dr Lim said the technology is built on advanced machine learning models trained on a corpus of billions of medically relevant training data, enabling HELF to parse and interpret medical literature and effectively understand unstructured user queries.
Less than a month after its release, HELF has already achieved nearly 84 percent accuracy when compared against United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) Step 1 samples, he said.
Dr. Lim is a medical doctor and the pioneering founder of HELF AI. He wants to revolutionize healthcare through the transformative power of AI. With a focus on Computer Vision and Deep Learning with an LLM, his work aims to elevate the global healthcare standard to one that is more equitable, efficient, and safe. He also wants to bridge the gap between technology and healthcare, paving the way for a healthier future for all.
“The biggest challenge in developing this product is the ever-growing technical difficulties in modern machine learning, but the biggest sticking point is that we’re entering an entirely new field. There’s no precedent, so it’s hard to get partners to collaborate because we may not even know what they want,” he added.
During the interview, Dr Lim also shared his insights on how advanced AI tools can benefit health and wellness industry professionals, the company’s goals, vision, mission, business model, and more.

Below are edited excerpts from the interview.
Why does the health and wellness industry need advanced AI tools?
Advanced AI tools like HELF can play a pivotal role in transforming the health and wellness industry by addressing several key challenges.
First, HELF will improve diagnostic accuracy and personalize patient care plans. By leveraging advanced deep learning techniques, HELF will analyze complex medical data and identify patterns that humans often miss, improving the safety and quality of healthcare.
Second, HELF streamlines the care process, augmenting valuable human labor by assisting and automating various tasks throughout the electronic health record experience. This support allows healthcare professionals to focus on direct patient care, improving the efficiency of healthcare delivery.
HELF also serves as a trusted assistant for clinicians, including doctors, nurses and allied health professionals. Trained on vast amounts of clinical data, HELF serves as a repository of insights, wisdom and clinical references, providing constant guidance and support to healthcare providers.
Ultimately, these capabilities contribute to more equitable healthcare. By standardizing high-quality care and democratizing access to advanced diagnostic tools, HELF contributes to eliminating healthcare disparities. This advancement translates into safer, more efficient, and universally high-quality healthcare across geographic and socio-economic barriers.
What products and solutions does HELF currently offer and what technologies have they been developed using?
HELF currently offers a range of AI-powered solutions designed to assist customers and professionals across all areas of health and wellness.
Currently, our team is successfully developing HELF, the main engine of healthcare knowledge built on billions of clinical terms. We can leverage the success of the HELF-LLM engine to develop API endpoints that startups and organizations can use to further develop their own health and wellness solutions. Our technology is built on advanced machine learning models trained on a corpus of billions of medically relevant training data, enabling HELF to parse and interpret medical literature and effectively understand unstructured user queries.
How many products do you currently have? Who is your target audience? Is it just doctors?
HELF has developed two products, HELF (Healthcare AI) and KIT (Beauty AI), and also developed APIs related to these two models to support other companies and enterprises.
Our target audience is anyone interested in or connected to the health and wellness industry – practically everyone.
What opportunities do you think developing this will create?
a. How is HELF different from other products?
HELF provides a more clinically relevant and accurate experience compared to other large-scale language models such as ChatGPT. Less than a month after its release, HELF has already achieved nearly 84% accuracy when compared to USMLE Step 1 samples. Our team is committed to making HELF even more comprehensive and knowledgeable.
b. Are there other companies offering similar services? What is your competitive advantage? What challenges do you see in developing and promoting these products?
To our knowledge, there are few to no other large-scale, healthcare-specific language models uniquely focused on the entire health and wellness industry.
Our strength and competitive advantage lies in our ever-expanding knowledge base.
The biggest challenge in developing this product is the increasing technical difficulty of modern machine learning, but the biggest sticking point is that we’re entering a whole new field, where there’s no precedent and partners may not even know what they want, making it hard to get them to collaborate.
What stage is HELF at? Are you looking for funding? If so, how much and for what? Who are your existing investors?
We have started monetizing our service and are also looking for initial investment funding. We are looking to raise $10M to take our product to the next stage. We do not have any investors at this time.
What is your business model? How do you generate revenue? Is it subscription-based or freemium?
We provide free access to all accounts, with usage and feature limitations. Users can access more throughput with a subscription. HELF will also be a SaaS (Software as a Service) company. We are preparing an API that external services can use for a fee. We believe these monetization routes will be highly profitable.
What are HELF’s goals, vision and mission?
Our goal is to democratize access to medical knowledge, making it more accessible and practicable for healthcare professionals around the world. Our vision is to revolutionize the standard of care through AI and our mission is to provide tools that support clinical decision-making with accuracy and speed across the healthcare and wellness industries.
How big is your team? Can you briefly tell us about your background?
Our team is made up of doctors, medical professionals and AI computer engineers. As the founder, I am a doctor with experience in AI development and have founded two AI technology companies focused on improving healthcare standards globally. My educational background includes a focus on medical technology and management.
