In a two-part episode of TarHeal Wellness, a podcast dedicated to the health and well-being of UNC Health medical trainees, Dr. Robert Rowe, MD, MBA, MPH, speaks with representatives from Headspace to explore the partnership and available resources, including evidence-based meditation and mindfulness tools, mental health coaching, therapy, psychiatry, and family support.
In Part 1, Robert speaks with Rachel Schenkemeyer, Strategic Client Account Executive at Headspace, to discuss what Headspace is, the partnership with UNC Health that made Headspace possible, the support Headspace provides, why the app is effective for healthcare providers, how healthcare providers can use it, and how to get started.
In part two, Robert speaks with Sandra Kuhn LCSW, vice president of Employer Workforce Strategy, to dive deeper into the science behind the app and the many ways the app’s extensive set of resources can help busy healthcare workers. The episode concludes with a short mindfulness meditation.
