Swell, a sound wellness company founded by DJ Brian DeSouza, launches SwellSpa app for spas and hotels
The app uses sound therapy, generative AI technology, biophilic nature sounds and binaural frequencies to create a unique sound experience to accompany your spa treatment.
Research by Kinda Studios and Goldsmiths University has confirmed that SwellSpa soundscapes increase relaxation, lower heart rate and boost alpha brain wave activity.
SwellSpa encourages the incorporation of sound experiences to enhance the spa customer experience in treatment rooms, relaxation areas and experiential bed spaces.
Sound wellness company Swell has launched an AI-generated music solution for spas and hotels that is scientifically proven to improve wellbeing.
Founded by international DJ Brian d’Souza, Swell’s new SwellSpa app offers soundscapes designed to help guests achieve deep relaxation, experience emotional uplifting, improve sleep and foster a closer connection with nature.
The songs combine sound therapy, biophilic sounds from nature and binaural frequencies using generative AI technology, which gives you a different sound experience every time you listen, making every treatment unique.
SwellSpa sound experiences transport listeners to beautiful locations around the world, including the Outer Hebrides, Ibiza, Nepal, Japan, Switzerland, Cape Verde and the forests and coasts of India.
According to research from neuroaesthetics institute Kinda Studios and Goldsmiths University, SwellSpa soundscapes can provide a range of health benefits, including deep relaxation, cognitive insight, emotional uplift and an increased sense of wellbeing.
Studies have demonstrated that after just 15 minutes of use, SwellSpa soundscapes significantly improve relaxation, lower heart rate, increase alpha brainwave activity, and enhance creativity and openness.
“Sound in spa treatment rooms has long been ignored, characterized by generic, meaningless playlists that simply serve as a background experience,” DeSouza says.
“SwellSpa changes that by bringing the power of sound therapy to spas and even their spa guests. We’ve spent three years developing next-generation technology that delivers a ‘genre-less journey’ – a purposeful, end-to-end sound experience that can be perfectly tailored to each treatment.
“SwellSpa is designed to be incredibly simple and cost-effective; it’s scientifically proven and delivers immediate results, so we can’t wait to bring it to the spa industry.”
SwellSpa encourages incorporating sound experiences into treatment rooms via iPads, setting up personal listening stations in spa relaxation rooms, and enhancing existing bed experiences with sound therapy.
The new app allows therapists to tailor treatment to the music by adjusting the duration of each sound experience.
Clients receive ongoing workshops, training, onboarding and ongoing support.
